The National Society Capacity Exchange and Enhancement Platform Project Cash and Protection Working Group Meetings were conducted on:

Cash Working Group: 25.06.2021

The National Society Capacity Exchange and Enhancement Platform Project partners; Turkish Red Crescent, British Red Cross, Bulgarian Red Cross, and Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina commenced technical discussions covering the best practices and modalities. The Working Group Participants took part in the comprehensive meetings and were provided with an in depth look at the modalities of the National Societies in both Cash and Protection areas.

In June meetings, the partners examined the intended audience with a set of information at a more advanced level. Alongside concept notes, reports, and technical papers; training modules will be created in the areas of cash and protection.

The partner National Societies briefly introduced their cash-based assistance and protection programmes and operations, which was followed by discussions on the programmes, as well as similarities, differences and areas in which the project partners could support each other, such as the target groups, sectors and modalities. Apart from the general information about the programmes, global topics such as Covid-19 and their impacts on the ongoing programmes were also addressed during the discussions.

The covid-19 pandemic has brought challenges in many operational aspects but also opportunities for the implementing partners to innovate their approaches. Given the very dynamic and unpredictable situation, in order to absorb the rapid changes, the partner National Societies have made the necessary adaptations in line with the series of preventive measures and mentioned these operational adaptations to the modalities in the meetings. Partners also shared the challenges as well information on which operations continued despite the obstructive circumstances.
